Brean Murray, Carret & Co. Broadens Technology Research Franchise

Michael Tieu, CFA, has joined Brean Murray, Carret & Co. as Senior Vice President and Senior Analyst in Technology, with emphasis in the security and enterprise software sectors. He will also be developing coverage of certain Chinese companies in concert with the firm's upcoming Chinese institutional equity research initiative.

Mr. Tieu enjoys an extremely high profile on the stocks he follows, and is a strong stock picker. He comes to Brean Murray, Carret & Co. after five years with the regional institutional research firm Southwest Securities in Dallas, where he was a Senior Vice President and headed the Software Team, as well as being a permanent member of the Review Committee for stock selection and oversight.
